Mark K. Hauserman

Mark K. Hauserman, a Cleveland native, is Director of the Muldoon Center for Entrepreneurship at John Carroll University. After attending Catholic Grade School, Mr. Hauserman graduated from Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from John Carroll University. Upon graduation, he accepted a commission in the United States Army and served in Virginia, Missouri, the Republic of Vietnam, and Germany.

After returning from overseas, he entered the MBA program at Indiana University. He is a Beta Gamma Sigma honor graduate of that program.

Mr. Hauserman joined his family's business, the E.F. Hauserman Company, in 1974 as a member of the Corporate Financial Staff. After transferring to Sales, he held a series of positions of increasing responsibility in both Sales and Sales Management, working in Atlanta, GA; Rochester, NY; and Cleveland, OH. In 1984, he bought a subsidiary, Decorative Veneer, from the Company.

In the 1980's and 1990's, he helped to develop a diverse group of companies in Information Management, Consumer Marketing, Office Furniture and Coating Technologies, by assembling the management teams, providing strategic direction, and capital. He divested his ownership of these companies in the 1990's, and today retains interest in only one of the original companies.

Mr. Hauserman serves on the Boards of a number of Private Companies in addition to his own companies, and has been active in a number of Professional Organizations.

Mr. Hauserman has also been very active in his community. He is the past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Community Solutions, Vocational Guidance Services, and Ursuline College. He was the head of the Allocations Division of United Way Services of Cleveland and a member of the Boards of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, The United Way, and The Ronald McDonald House. He is a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 1988 and served on the Alumni steering Committee.

Mr. Hauserman and his wife Andrea recently adopted a brother and sister from The Republic of Kazakhstan. John, age 9, is in the 3rd Grade and Sarah, age 8 is in 1st Grade.
